                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1225, No.316), entitled
     2     "An act concerning game and other wild birds and wild
     3     animals; and amending, revising, consolidating, and changing
     4     the law relating thereto," authorizing the commission to
     5     issue permits to certain disabled persons to hunt from
     6     vehicles.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  Section 418.1 of the act of June 3, 1937
    10  (P.L.1225, No.316), known as The Game Law, amended March 23,
    11  1970 (P.L.201, No.80), is amended to read:
    12     Section 418.1.  (a)  The Pennsylvania Game Commission is
    13  hereby authorized to issue to a disabled person who is suffering
    14  from paraplegia and has permanent paralysis of both legs and
    15  lower parts of the body, or who is suffering from hemiplegia and
    16  has permanent paralysis of one leg and one arm or either side of
    17  the body, or who has suffered amputation of both feet or one
    18  hand and one foot or is permanently confined to a wheelchair or
    19  must use crutches or other similar means of support to pursue

     1  his daily activities and who qualifies for a hunting license
     2  under the provisions of article III of this act, a special
     3  permit permitting said person to hunt while using an automobile
     4  or vehicle. The commission shall prescribe rules and regulations
     5  requiring applicants for this permission to submit reasons for
     6  granting of this request, and shall require said persons, if
     7  permission is granted, to carry said permits upon their person
     8  while hunting.
     9     (b)  The Pennsylvania Game Commission may issue a special
    10  permit to any person who presents a doctor's certificate that
    11  the person is physically unable to walk for an extended period
    12  of time, authorizing him to hunt for, pursue, and kill from an
    13  automobile or vehicle on regulated shooting grounds those
    14  species of game authorized for release on such areas, subject to
    15  rules and regulations prescribed by the commission. The
    16  permittee shall carry the permit on his person while hunting on
    17  regulated shooting grounds and shall, in addition, display a
    18  current valid hunting license.
    19     (c)  The Pennsylvania Game Commission may issue a special
    20  permit to any person who has a respiratory ailment, including,
    21  but not limited to, emphysema, pneumoconiosis, anthracosilicosis
    22  or black lung disease, and is required to use liquid oxygen to
    23  enable him to breathe properly, authorizing him to hunt for,
    24  pursue, and kill from an automobile or vehicle, subject to
    25  regulations prescribed by the commission. The permittee shall
    26  carry the permit on his person while hunting and shall, in
    27  addition, display a valid hunting license.
    28     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
