           COLE, LLOYD, RUDY, McVERRY, FISCHER, WOZNIAK, McINTYRE,
           BATTISTO, PETRARCA, DALEY AND ROBBINS, MARCH 20, 1984

        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, MARCH 21, 1984

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Memorializing Congress to pass legislation permitting the use of
     2     Federal highway funds for the construction of toll roads and
     3     bridges.

     4     WHEREAS, Existing Federal law prohibits the use of Federal
     5  highway funds by states for the construction of toll roads and
     6  bridges; and
     7     WHEREAS, Pennsylvania is contemplating the construction of
     8  major highways and bridges as toll roads and bridges; and
     9     WHEREAS, The utilization of Federal funds would greatly aid
    10  this endeavor to the betterment of travel conditions for all
    11  citizens of the United States and the improvement of the
    12  national economy and the economy of the Commonwealth of
    13  Pennsylvania; therefore be it
    14     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
    15  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania memorialize the Congress of the
    16  United States to enact legislation which would permit the
    17  utilization of Federal highway fund money for the construction


     1  of toll roads and bridges; and be it further
     2     RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
     3  the presiding officers of each house of Congress and to each
     4  member of Congress from Pennsylvania.
