AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for the
3 payment of mileage fees to witnesses.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 5903(c) of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 5903. Compensation and expenses of witnesses.

10 (c) Travel.--Every witness, except a salaried police officer
11 attending a coroner's inquest during working hours, shall be
12 paid mileage at the rate [of 7¢] which the county in which the
13 court is sitting pays its employees for each mile circular
14 actually and necessarily travelled between the place named in
15 the subpoena and the place of residence of the witness.

17 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
