AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing that cost of
3 the viewers shall be borne by the condemnor.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 3154(b) of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 3154. Compensation of judicial officers.

10 (b) Appointive judicial officers.--Except as otherwise
11 expressly provided by statute:
12 (1) The compensation of appointive judicial officers
13 whose compensation has heretofore by law been fixed by the
14 county salary board, by the county staff or by other
15 officers, other than judges, elected by the electorate of a
16 county, shall continue to be fixed in the same manner and by
17 the same authority. In all cases the cost of viewers in
18 eminent domain proceedings shall be paid by the condemnor,
1 but in no case shall the cost of the viewers exceed the
2 amount of $100 per viewer for working a total of eight hours
3 per day.
4 (2) The compensation of all other appointive judicial
5 officers shall, except as otherwise prescribed by the
6 governing authority, be fixed by the appointing authority.
