AS AMENDED ON THIRD CONSIDERATION, JUNE 16, 1981
AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Trustees of the University of
2 Pittsburgh for the general maintenance and operation of the
3 Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. The sum of $5,200,000 $5,400,000 is hereby <--
7 specifically appropriated to the Trustees of the University of
8 Pittsburgh for the fiscal period July 1, 1981 to June 30, 1982,
9 for the general maintenance and operation of the Western
10 Psychiatric Institute and Clinic by the University of Pittsburgh
11 and the purchase of such apparatus and equipment as the trustees
12 may deem necessary for the best interest of the purposes of the
13 institute and clinic, which purposes shall include the teaching
14 of personnel for the staffs of the various mental institutions
15 of the Commonwealth and the conduct or research in the
16 treatment, prevention and cause of the various types of nervous
17 disorders and mental diseases in compliance with the laws,
18 providing for the lease of the Western Psychiatric Institute and
1 Clinic to the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to the above
2 amount all income and all moneys collected at the institute and
3 paid into the General Fund of the State Treasury under existing
4 laws are hereby appropriated out of the General Fund to the
5 institute for the same purposes, the institute to receive from
6 such appropriation the exact amount which was collected at said
7 institute during the said fiscal period.
8 Section 2. Payments to the institute on account of the
9 appropriation in section 1 shall be made by the Secretary of
10 Public Welfare in equal quarterly payments.
11 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 1981.
