HOUSE RESOLUTION

No. 76 Session of 1981

                           In the House of Representatives, June 2, 1981

     1     WHEREAS, The act of April 12, 1951 (P.L.90, No.21), known as
     2  the "Liquor Code," has not undergone a thorough legislative
     3  review since its enactment; and
     4     WHEREAS, The various other statutes relating to liquor and
     5  malt and brewed beverages have not undergone thorough
     6  legislative review for a significant period of time; and
     7     WHEREAS, It is of great importance that all statutes relating
     8  to liquor and malt and brewed beverages be modernized and
     9  recodified; therefore be it
    10     RESOLVED (the Senate concurring), That the General Assembly
    11  of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania directs the Joint State
    12  Government Commission to organize a task force to conduct an in-
    13  depth study of the present statutes relating to liquor and malt
    14  and brewed beverages and to prepare for consideration by the
    15  General Assembly proposed legislation embodying a revision,
    16  consolidation and recodification of all such statutes; and be it
    17  further

     1     RESOLVED, That the Joint State Government Commission make a
     2  report to this session of the General Assembly of its findings
     3  and recommendations, with drafts of legislation drawn to achieve
     4  the purposes set forth in this resolution.
