AN ACT
1 Requiring health and accident insurance coverage to become
2 effective upon the rehiring of certain individuals.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Definitions.
6 The following words and phrases when used in this act shall
7 have, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the
8 meanings given to them in this section:
9 "Employer." The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, any political
10 subdivision or authority thereof and any other person employing
11 one or more persons.
12 "Person." A corporation, partnership, unincorporated
13 association, individual or other entity.
14 Section 2. Insurance coverage.
1 Any employer which maintains health and accident insurance
2 coverage for its employees shall provide such coverage effective
3 on the date any employee returns to work after a period of a
4 layoff due to no fault of the employee.
5 Section 3. Effective date.
6 This act shall take effect immediately.
