        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON HEALTH AND WELFARE, MARCH 24, 1982

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), entitled "An
     2     act to consolidate, editorially revise, and codify the public
     3     welfare laws of the Commonwealth," declaring unemployment
     4     compensation recipients eligible for medical assistance.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  The act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), known
     8  as the "Public Welfare Code," is amended by adding a section to
     9  read:
    10     Section 442.2.  Unemployment Compensation Recipients.--
    11  Notwithstanding any provisions of this act, any person receiving
    12  benefits under the act of December 5, 1936 (2nd Sp.Sess. 1937
    13  P.L.2897, No.1), known as the "Unemployment Compensation Law,"
    14  shall be eligible for medical assistance under this act.

     1     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
