                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of July 9, 1981 (P.L.208, No.66), entitled "An
     2     act creating the Public Employee Retirement Study Commission
     3     to make a continuing study of all public employee retirement
     4     and pension systems; and making an appropriation," adding to
     5     the membership of the Municipal Pension Advisory Committee.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Section 8, act of July 9, 1981 (P.L.208, No.66),
     9  known as the "Public Employee Retirement Study Commission Act,"
    10  is amended to read:
    11  Section 8.  Municipal Pension Advisory Committee.
    12     The commission shall appoint a Municipal Pension Advisory
    13  Committee composed of one municipal official or employee
    14  nominated by each of the following municipal associations: the
    15  Pennsylvania League of Cities; the Pennsylvania State
    16  Association of Boroughs; the Pennsylvania State Association of
    17  Township Supervisors; the Pennsylvania State Association of
    18  Township Commissioners; the Pennsylvania State Association of
    19  County Commissioners; [and] the Pennsylvania Municipal

     1  Authorities Association; the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police
     2  Association; the Pennsylvania State Firefighters Association and
     3  the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police. Members of the
     4  advisory committee may not be members of the commission. The
     5  committee shall organize by electing its own officers and by
     6  establishing rules of procedure. The advisory committee shall
     7  meet with the commission at stated times fixed by the
     8  commission, but not less than once a year, at which time the
     9  activities of the commission will be discussed and the committee
    10  may present information and make recommendations. The advisory
    11  committee may meet at such other times as it may determine and
    12  may forward information and recommendations to the commission.
    13  Committee members shall be reimbursed only for actual expenses
    14  incurred in connection with their official duties.
    15     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
