AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, requiring five full sized tires on certain
3 vehicles.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 4525(b) of Title 75, act of November 25,
7 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania Consolidated
8 Statutes, is amended to read:
9 § 4525. Tire equipment and traction surfaces.

11 (b) Vehicles not equipped with pneumatic tires.--
12 (1) It is unlawful for any person to operate or move, or
13 cause or permit to be moved, in contact with any highway any
14 vehicle equipped with traction or road contact surfaces other
15 than pneumatic tires unless of a type, size and construction
16 permitted by regulations of the department and unless the
17 movement is made under specific conditions allowed by
18 regulations of the department.
1 (2) Every intermediate or full sized car sold in
2 Pennsylvania shall be equipped with five matching tires,
3 unless the purchaser specifically requests a deflated spare
4 tire.
