AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), entitled "An
2 act to consolidate, editorially revise, and codify the public
3 welfare laws of the Commonwealth," providing for the
4 deduction of the cost of unauthorized ambulance use from
5 assistance benefits.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. The act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), known
9 as the "Public Welfare Code," is amended by adding a section to
10 read:
11 Section 438. Deduction from Benefits.--Any person who uses
12 an ambulance for ordinary transportation and not for medical
13 purposes, shall upon certification by a physician that the
14 person was not sick, injured or otherwise in medical need at the
15 time it was used shall have the cost of the ambulance service
16 deducted from such person's assistance benefits.
17 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
