AN ACT
1 Making appropriations to the Thomas Jefferson University of
2 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. (a) The sum of $3,973,000, or as much thereof as
6 may be necessary, is hereby specifically appropriated to the
7 Thomas Jefferson University of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for
8 the fiscal period July 1, 1980 to June 30, 1981, for instruction
9 in the Doctor of Medicine program.
10 (b) The sum of $1,905,000, or as much thereof as may be
11 necessary, is hereby specifically appropriated to the Thomas
12 Jefferson University of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for the
13 fiscal period July 1, 1980 to June 30, 1981, for the general
14 maintenance of the Thomas Jefferson University including the
15 College of Allied Health Sciences and student aid.
16 Section 2. Payments to the Thomas Jefferson University on
17 account of the appropriation for instructions in the Doctor of
1 Medicine program as provided in section 1(a) shall be made by
2 the Secretary of Education on the basis of full-time student
3 enrollment at the rate of $4,400 per student.
4 Section 3. Payments to the Thomas Jefferson University on
5 account of the appropriation provided in section 1(b) shall be
6 made by the Secretary of Education on the basis of cost during
7 the fiscal period.
8 Section 4. The university shall provide such information as
9 may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this act and in
10 such form and manner as the Department of Education may
11 prescribe.
12 Section 5. The Thomas Jefferson University shall report its
13 revenues and expenditures and present its financial statements
14 in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and
15 procedures for educational institutions as set forth in the
16 "Higher Education Finance Manual of 1971," without exception.
17 Section 6. All sums of money paid to the Thomas Jefferson
18 University pursuant to the appropriation of the act of July 11,
19 1980 (No.38A), entitled "An act making appropriations to the
20 Thomas Jefferson University of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,"
21 shall be credited toward and deducted from the amount
22 appropriated in this act.
23 Section 7. The act of July 11, 1980 (No.38A), entitled "An
24 act making appropriations to the Thomas Jefferson University of
25 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania," is repealed.
26 Section 8. This act shall take effect immediately.
