HOUSE RESOLUTION

        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, JULY 10, 1979

                          In the House of Representatives, July 10, 1979

     1     WHEREAS, The recent incident at Three Mile Island vividly
     2  displayed the dangers involving the production of nuclear
     3  energy; and
     4     WHEREAS, Our National and State leaders have ignored the vast
     5  natural resource of coal; and
     6     WHEREAS, It is estimated that Pennsylvania possesses a supply
     7  of coal sufficient to meet our Nation's energy needs for the
     8  next three hundred years; therefore be it
     9     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives require the
    10  Pennsylvania Power and Light Company to present to the General
    11  Assembly in layman's terms, a plan to convert to coal the
    12  Berwick Nuclear Plant, which would include how conversion would
    13  be made, how much it would cost and any other relevant factor.
