           SEVENTY, NOVAK, DIETZ, F. TAYLOR, GATSKI, MRKONIC,
           KERNICK, AUSTIN, TADDONIO, McVERRY, CESSAR, POTT,

        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, JUNE 27, 1979

                          In the House of Representatives, June 26, 1979

     1     WHEREAS, It appears that in some areas of the Commonwealth
     2  gasoline refineries, distributors and dealers may be unlawfully
     3  hoarding or stockpiling gasoline supplies; and
     4     WHEREAS, Such stockpiling may result in an improper or
     5  unlawful allocation of gasoline supplies to motorists within the
     6  Commonwealth; therefore be it
     7     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge the Governor
     8  to appoint representatives from the Department of
     9  Transportation, the Department of Revenue and the Pennsylvania
    10  State Police to a special Gasoline Task Force to investigate the
    11  storage and distribution of gasoline within the Commonwealth;
    12  and be it further
    13     RESOLVED, That the task force shall use such State Police
    14  officers and agents of the Department of Revenue as are
    15  necessary to fully investigate the gasoline storage and

     1  distribution system within the Commonwealth; and be it further
     2     RESOLVED, That the task force may hold hearings, take
     3  testimony and make its investigations at such places as it deems
     4  necessary within the Commonwealth, including but not limited to
     5  gasoline refineries, storage yards, tank farms and other such
     6  facilities; and be it further
     7     RESOLVED, That the task force report its findings together
     8  with any recommendations for remedial legislation to the
     9  Governor and to the General Assembly as soon as possible.
