In the House of Representatives, May 7, 1979 1 WHEREAS, One of the glories of the American way of life has 2 been the development of techniques and methods to conquer 3 disease; and 4 WHEREAS, A disease known as Huntington's Disease afflicts 5 many citizens in a relentless and at present an incurable way; 6 and 7 WHEREAS, The presence of this dread disease offers a 8 challenge to the love and humanitarianism of the American 9 people; and 10 WHEREAS, The Committee to Combat Huntington's Disease has 11 supported research into the cause and nature of this disease; 12 and 13 WHEREAS, The work of the Committee to Combat Huntington's 14 Disease has brought new hope to those who bear the burden of 15 this tragic affliction; and
1 WHEREAS, Research continues to open new windows to the 2 mysteries of Huntington's Disease; and 3 WHEREAS, The month of June will be observed as Huntington's 4 Disease Month in communities throughout our Nation; therefore be 5 it 6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 7 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, hereby recognizes the month of 8 June 1979, as "Huntington's Disease Month" in Pennsylvania, and 9 urges all our citizens to lend their support to efforts to 10 control this disease so that the suffering it causes may be 11 eliminated.
