                            In the House of Representatives, May 2, 1979

     1     WHEREAS, The Department of Defense has planned to move the
     2  Helicopter Maintenance Complement of 13 military and 260
     3  civilian employees from the New Cumberland Army Depot to the Air
     4  Naval Station at Corpus Christi, Texas; and
     5     WHEREAS, The Department of Defense has scheduled the
     6  deactivation of Fort Indiantown Gap Military Reservation by
     7  shifting 13 military and 270 civilian employees to Fort Meade,
     8  Maryland and eliminating the remaining 128 military and 310
     9  civilian jobs; and
    10     WHEREAS, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has suffered
    11  undetermined economic losses from the nuclear reactor accident
    12  at Three Mile Island, adjacent to the New Cumberland Army Depot
    13  and Fort Indiantown Gap Military Reservation; now therefore be
    14  it
    15     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
    16  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania memorialize the Congress of the


     1  United States to take appropriate legislative action to prevent
     2  the above moves planned by the Department of Defense; and be it
     3  further
     4     RESOLVED, That copies of the resolution be transmitted to the
     5  presiding officers of the Senate and the House of
     6  Representatives of the Congress of the United States and to each
     7  Senator and Representative from Pennsylvania in the Congress of
     8  the United States.
