AN ACT
1 Requiring the use of domestically produced steel in certain
2 construction projects.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Any branch, department, board, authority or
6 commission of the Commonwealth, any political subdivision of the
7 Commonwealth, any State, county, municipal, township or school
8 authority, school board, school governing body, commission,
9 board of trustees of all State-owned, State-related and State-
10 aided colleges and universities or other governmental
11 instrumentality which receives funds from the Commonwealth shall
12 place in all contract specifications which require the use of
13 steel that such steel be produced domestically.
14 Section 2. The use of non-domestically produced steel in any
15 construction project for which State funds are used shall be
16 prohibited.
17 Section 3. Any person violating the provisions of this act
1 is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be
2 sentenced to pay a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to undergo a
3 term of imprisonment for not more than 2 years, or both.
