AN ACT 1 Declaring and adopting the song "Pennsylvania" music and lyrics 2 by Mary E. Albert Attick of the City and County of Lebanon 3 and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as the State song of the 4 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. 5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 6 hereby enacts as follows: 7 Section 1. The song "Pennsylvania," the music and lyrics by 8 Mary E. Albert Attick of the City and County of Lebanon and 9 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, is hereby adopted as the State 10 song of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and shall be the 11 official song for all public purposes. The lyrics are as 12 follows: 13 First stanza: 14 Pennsylvania, you're the greatest State of all, 15 with your rivers and your mountains 16 that loom so grand and tall, 17 Upon your hills and valleys 18 your thriving cities stand,
1 your loyal sons and daughters 2 are the proudest in the land. 3 Second stanza: 4 Pennsylvania, beloved native State, 5 your heritage is freedom, 6 your ancestry is great, 7 In your bosom you have nurtured courage, 8 strength and loyalty, 9 In your hands you held the cradle 10 of your country's liberty! 11 Third stanza: 12 Pennsylvania, upon your beauteous land, 13 The Great Creator lifted His strong and kindly hand, 14 He has given hidden treasures 15 of beauty yet untold, 16 Your gifts from Him are many 17 countless wonders to behold! 18 Optional first stanza: 19 Pennsylvania, we hail you noble State 20 For the miracles of nature 21 That make you strong and great 22 For your rivers, streams and mountains 23 Your thriving cities too 24 Your loyal sons and daughters 25 Sing boundless praise to you! 26 Section 2.
