AN ACT 1 Declaring and adopting the song "Mania For Pennsylvania," music 2 and lyrics by Philip "Knute" Bonner and Jerry Bradley, as the 3 State song of the Commonwealth. 4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 hereby enacts as follows: 6 Section 1. The song "Mania For Pennsylvania," music and 7 lyrics by Philip "Knute" Bonner and Jerry Bradley, is hereby 8 adopted as the State song of Pennsylvania and shall be the 9 official song for all public purposes. The words of the song are 10 as follows: 11 Verse I 12 Pennsylvania is the place where you want to be, 13 Pennsylvania is the place that you ought to see, 14 Every time I think about it, I feel so grand, 15 That is when I yell, "strike up the band". 16 Verse II 17 I've got a mania for Pennsylvania, for its the greatest 18 State of them all;
1 Truly the cradle of liberty, that welcomes the world to 2 visit and see. 3 It will contain ya, my Pennsylvania, with its valleys and 4 mountains and lakes; 5 There's three things about it that I can say is simply 6 great, great, great. 7 Verse III 8 Pennsylvania is the place where I love to be, 9 Pennsylvania is the place that you ought to see, 10 Every time I think about it, I feel so swell, 11 That is when I stand right up and yell, 12 I've got a mania for Pennsylvania, for its the greatest 13 State of them all. 14 This is the place where we were set free, to cherish each 15 moment of liberty. 16 Our great Ben Franklin we dearly thank him with Betsy 17 Ross and Jefferson too, 18 For they together, made forever, our freedom dream come 19 true. 20 Section 2.
