                                  A SUPPLEMENT

     1  To the act of April 11, 1974 (P.L.252, No.62), entitled "An act
     2     authorizing the indebtedness, with approval of the electors,
     3     of one hundred million dollars for the repair, reconstruction
     4     and rehabilitation of nursing homes and providing the
     5     allotment of proceeds from borrowing hereunder," authorizing,
     6     with approval of the electors, part of the funds for nursing
     7     homes to be used for loans to repair, reconstruct and
     8     rehabilitate boarding homes.

     9     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    10  hereby enacts as follows:
    11     Section 1.  The question of using the sum of $60,000,000 for
    12  loans for the repair, reconstruction of boarding homes from the
    13  $100,000,000 for nursing homes shall be submitted to the
    14  electors at the next primary, municipal or general election
    15  following enactment of this act.
    16     Section 2.  The Secretary of the Commonwealth shall forthwith
    17  certify the question to the county boards of election.
    18     Section 3.  The question shall be in substantially the
    19  following form:
    20     Do you favor the use of $60,000,000 previously

     1     authorized for nursing homes to also be used           Yes
     2     for loans to repair, reconstruct and rehabilitate      No
     3     boarding homes?
     4     Section 4.  The election shall be conducted in accordance
     5  with the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1333, No.320), known as the
     6  "Pennsylvania Election Code," except that the time limits for
     7  advertisement of notice of the election may be waived as to the
     8  question.
     9     Section 5.  Proceeds of borrowing shall be used through loans
    10  to provide for repairs, reconstruction and rehabilitation of
    11  nursing homes and boarding homes necessary to insure compliance
    12  with State and Federal safety standards.
    13     Section 6.  This act shall take effect immediately.
