AN ACT
1 Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further defining
3 "personal staff," insofar as it relates to the Philadelphia
4 Traffic Court.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. The definition of "personal staff" in section 102
8 of Title 42, act of November 25, 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known
9 as the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, is amended to read:
10 § 102. Definitions.
11 Subject to additional definitions contained in subsequent
12 provisions of this title which are applicable to specific
13 provisions of this title, the following words and phrases when
14 used in this title shall have, unless the context clearly
15 indicates otherwise, the meanings given to them in this section:

17 "Personal staff." Private secretaries, law clerks and such
18 other personnel as an individual may be authorized by law to
1 select and remove subject to standards and classifications
2 established by the governing authority. In the case of the
3 Philadelphia Traffic Court, each judge thereof shall be
4 authorized to select and remove a secretary, administrative
5 assistant and clerk.
6 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
