AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, providing for special speed limitations in
3 construction and maintenance areas.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Subsection (b) of section 3365 of Title 75, act
7 of November 25, 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the
8 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, is amended to read:
9 § 3365. Special speed limitations.

11 (b) School zones and construction or maintenance areas.--
12 (1) When passing a school zone as defined and
13 established under regulations of the department, no person
14 shall drive a vehicle at a speed greater than that
15 established for the particular school zone. An official
16 traffic-control device shall indicate the beginning and end
17 of each school zone to traffic approaching in each direction.
18 Establishment of a school zone, including its location, hours
1 of operation and speed limit, shall be approved by the
2 department.
3 (2) No person shall drive a vehicle within a highway or
4 utility construction or maintenance area at a speed in excess
5 of the speed limit established for such area in accordance
6 with department regulations.

8 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
