AN ACT
1 Amending the act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, No.130), entitled
2 "An act relating to counties of the third, fourth, fifth,
3 sixth, seventh and eighth classes; amending, revising,
4 consolidating and changing the laws relating thereto," making
5 certain audits mandatory and making an editorial change.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. Section 1722.1, act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323,
9 No.130), known as "The County Code," added August 27, 1963
10 (P.L.1256, No.519), is amended to read:
11 Section 1722.1. Audit of Accounts of Minor Judiciary.--The
12 controller or county auditors [may] shall annually audit the
13 accounts of every alderman, magistrate or district justice [of
14 the peace] within the county and report the results of such
15 audits to the county commissioners, the Auditor General and to
16 the governing body of each political subdivision which is
17 entitled or has a right to receive any moneys or funds collected
18 by any such alderman, magistrate or district justice [of the
19 peace].
1 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
