                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, providing for the surrender of suspended driver's
     3     licenses and the payment of a fee for their restoration.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 1540 of Title 75, act of November 25,
     7  1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     8  Statutes, is amended by adding a subsection to read:
     9  § 1540.  Surrender of license.

    11     (c)  Failure to surrender suspended license.--Whenever a
    12  driver fails to comply with a notice to surrender his driver's
    13  license to the department pursuant to the provisions of this
    14  section the department may send a member of the State Police for
    15  it to the residence of the driver.
    16     Section 2.  Title 75 is amended by adding a section to read:
    17  § 1746.1.  Fee for restoration of suspended driver's license.
    18     A person whose driver's license has been suspended shall be
    19  required to pay a fee of $25 to the department before the

     1  license shall be restored to him.
     2     Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
