AN ACT
1 Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, further prohibiting certain political
3 activities on State property and prohibiting the use of any
4 State equipment, facilities, employees or supplies for
5 political activity.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. Title 18, act of November 25, 1970 (P.L.707,
9 No.230), known as the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is
10 amended by adding a section to read:
11 § 4704. Prohibited political activity.
12 A person commits a misdemeanor of the second degree if such
13 person acts directly or indirectly for or on behalf of any
14 political party or political candidate:
15 (1) coerces or attempts to coerce any employee of the
16 Department of Transportation to contribute any portion of
17 said employees' wages to a political party or a political
18 candidate;
19 (2) solicits or attempts to solicit any contributions of
1 any nature on behalf of a political party or political
2 candidate on any State property;
3 (3) sells or attempts to sell any tickets, raffles or
4 other like devices utilized for raising money on behalf of a
5 political party or political candidate on any State property;
6 or
7 (4) uses or utilizes in any manner any State facilities,
8 equipment, employees or supplies on behalf of any political
9 party or political candidate.
10 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
