                      In the House of Representatives, November 29, 1977

     1     WHEREAS, Certain municipalities within the Commonwealth lie
     2  within flood prone areas; and
     3     WHEREAS, Prior planning for the evacuation and housing of
     4  flood disaster victims could significantly alleviate loss of
     5  life and human suffering; and
     6     WHEREAS, The City of Wilkes-Barre has taken the lead in
     7  adopting such a plan; now therefore be it
     8     RESOLVED, That all municipalities of the Commonwealth lying
     9  within flood prone areas are urged to prepare and adopt a plan
    10  similar to that adopted by the City of Wilkes-Barre containing
    11  emergency procedures for the evacuation and housing of their
    12  citizens in the event of a flood disaster.
