                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of May 18, 1945 (P.L.809, No.323), entitled "An
     2     act removing certain roads or sections of road from the State
     3     highway system; and providing for their future maintenance
     4     and construction," transferring roads in Lewisburg Borough,
     5     Union County.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Section 1, act of May 18, 1945 (P.L.809, No.323),
     9  entitled "An act removing certain roads or sections of road from
    10  the State highway system; and providing for their future
    11  maintenance and construction," is amended by adding paragraphs
    12  to read:
    13     Section 1.  The following described roads, or parts of roads,
    14  which were added to the State highway system under the
    15  provisions of the act, approved the twenty-seventh day of April,
    16  one thousand nine hundred twenty-seven (Pamphlet Laws 409,
    17  No.266), entitled "An act authorizing the Secretary of Highways
    18  to join two or more State highway routes, by the construction of
    19  connecting roads, under certain conditions, and providing for


     1  the payment of damages for land taken in the construction of
     2  such connecting roads," or under the provisions of section 217
     3  or section 220 of the act, approved the first day of June, one
     4  thousand nine hundred forty-five (Pamphlet Laws 1242, No.428),
     5  known as the "State Highway Law," and which have been numbered
     6  by the Secretary of Highways, as indicated, are hereby removed
     7  from the said system.

     9                            UNION COUNTY
    10     Route 628.  Beginning at Route 26 at Third Street in
    11  Lewisburg; and extending north on Third Street to Saint Anthony
    12  Street; thence northwest on present township road to Buffalo
    13  Crossroads; thence north to Mazeppa in Union County.
    14     L.R. 59044, Spur E.  Beginning at a point on the East Buffalo
    15  Township-Lewisburg Borough line; thence northerly over Seventh
    16  Street to the intersection with Route 26, Market Street, in the
    17  Borough of Lewisburg, Union County, a distance of about 0.40 of
    18  a mile.
    19     Section 2.  The act is amended by adding a section to read:
    20     Section 1.2.  The following described roads, or parts of
    21  roads, which were added to the State highway system under the
    22  provisions of the act of June 1, 1933 (P.L.1172, No.290),
    23  entitled "An act establishing certain streets in boroughs and
    24  incorporated towns as State highways, and providing for their
    25  construction and maintenance at the expense of the
    26  Commonwealth," are hereby removed from the said system:
    27                            UNION COUNTY
    28     Route 59024.  Extending Route 59024.--Beginning at a point on
    29  Route 628, at the intersection of Third and Saint Anthony
    30  Streets, in the borough of Lewisburg, thence in a northeasterly

     1  direction on Saint Anthony Street to the Lewisburg-Borough-
     2  Kelley Township line, Union County, a distance of about .28 of a
     3  mile.
     4     Route 59037.  Extending Route 59037.--Beginning at a point in
     5  the East Buffalo Township-Lewisburg Borough line; thence over
     6  Brown and Third Streets to the intersection of Routes 26, 259,
     7  and 628, at Third and Market Streets, in the borough of
     8  Lewisburg, Union County, a distance of about 0.64 of a mile.
     9     Section 3.  On or after the effective date of this act, the
    10  roads herein described shall be maintained, constructed and
    11  reconstructed by the authorities of the Borough of Lewisburg.
    12     Section 4.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
