                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of August 22, 1961 (P.L.1049, No.479), entitled
     2     "An act authorizing the State Treasurer under certain
     3     conditions to transfer sums of money between the General Fund
     4     and certain funds and subsequent transfers of equal sums
     5     between such funds, and making appropriations necessary to
     6     effect such transfers," authorizing transfers involving the
     7     Purchasing Fund.

     8     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     9  hereby enacts as follows:
    10     Section 1.  Section 1, act of August 22, 1961 (P.L.1049,
    11  No.479), entitled "An act authorizing the State Treasurer under
    12  certain conditions to transfer sums of money between the General
    13  Fund and certain funds and subsequent transfers of equal sums
    14  between such funds, and making appropriations necessary to
    15  effect such transfers," amended June 9, 1972 (P.L.370, No.103),
    16  is amended to read:
    17     Section 1.  Whenever the Governor shall ascertain that the
    18  cash balance and the current estimated receipts of either the
    19  General Fund or of any of the following enumerated funds:
    20  Banking Department Fund, Milk Control Fund, State Farm Products

     1  Show Fund, Oil and Gas Lease Fund, Special Disaster Relief Fund,
     2  Historical Preservation Fund, Anthracite Strip Mining Fund,
     3  Bituminous Coal Open Pit Mining Reclamation Fund, Special
     4  Administration Fund, Feed and Fertilizer Fund, State Harness
     5  Racing Fund, State Horse Racing Fund, Liquid Fuels Tax Fund,
     6  Liquor License Fund, State Lottery Fund, Purchasing Fund, Fire
     7  Insurance Tax Fund, or Pennsylvania Fair Fund--shall be
     8  insufficient at any time during any fiscal period to meet
     9  promptly the expenses of the Commonwealth payable from such
    10  fund, the State Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed,
    11  from time to time during such fiscal period, to transfer to the
    12  General Fund if the same be deficient from one or more of the
    13  enumerated funds or to any of the enumerated funds if such be
    14  deficient from the General Fund, as the case may be, such sums
    15  as the Governor shall direct. Any sum so transferred shall be
    16  available for the purposes for which the fund to which they are
    17  transferred is appropriated by law. Such transfers shall be made
    18  hereunder upon warrant of the State Treasurer upon requisition
    19  of the Governor.
    20     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
