                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of June 27, 1947 (P.L.1046, No.447), entitled
     2     "An act providing for equalization of assessed valuations of
     3     real property throughout the Commonwealth for use in
     4     determining the amount and allocation of Commonwealth
     5     subsidies to school districts; creating a State Tax
     6     Equalization Board; and prescribing its powers and duties;
     7     imposing duties on certain local officers, agents, boards,
     8     commissions and departments; and making an appropriation,"
     9     empowering the State Tax Equalization Board to equalize the
    10     basis for occupation taxes for school districts crossing
    11     county lines.

    12     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    13  hereby enacts as follows:
    14     Section 1.  Section 7, act of June 27, 1947 (P.L.1046,
    15  No.447), referred to as the State Tax Equalization Board Law, is
    16  amended by adding a clause to read:
    17     Section 7.  General Powers and Duties of the Board.--The
    18  board shall have the power and its duties shall be--
    19     * * *
    20     (9)  To equalize the basis for assessment of occupations for
    21  tax purposes for school districts that cross county lines when
    22  the respective counties are unable to agree on a common basis.


     1     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
