                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, No.130), entitled
     2     "An act relating to counties of the third, fourth, fifth,
     3     sixth, seventh and eighth classes; amending, revising,
     4     consolidating and changing the laws relating thereto,"
     5     further defining what county officers have voting privileges
     6     on the county salary boards.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  Section 1622, act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323,
    10  No.130), known as "The County Code," is amended to read:
    11     Section 1622.  Salary Boards Created.--There is hereby
    12  created in each county a salary board, which shall consist of
    13  the three individual members of the board of county
    14  commissioners and the county controller in counties where there
    15  is a controller, or the county treasurer in counties where there
    16  is no controller. The three county commissioners shall hold all
    17  the voting power on the salary board and the controller or
    18  treasurer, as the case may be, shall only possess the power to
    19  make recommendations on board policy and advise the
    20  commissioners on fiscal matters. The chairman of the board of


     1  county commissioners shall be chairman of the salary board. The
     2  board shall meet and organize on the first Monday of January of
     3  each year.
     4     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 30 days.
