AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, authorizing local ordinances for parking.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Section 6301 and subsection (d) of section 6302
6 of Title 75, act of November 25, 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known
7 as the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, are amended to read:
8 § 6301. Prosecutions under local ordinances superseded by
9 title.
10 When the same conduct is prescribed under this title and a
11 local ordinance, the charge shall be brought under this title
12 and not under the local ordinance. Prosecutions brought under
13 any local ordinance, rule or regulation, which are based on a
14 violation for which there is a specific penalty provided in this
15 title, except for [overtime] parking, shall be deemed as having
16 been brought under this title and the assessment disposition of
17 the fines and forfeitures shall be so governed. Local ordinances
18 regulating [overtime] parking shall prescribe fines for
1 violations.
2 § 6302. Limitation of actions for summary offenses.

4 (d) Local ordinances on [overtime] parking.--Local
5 ordinances pertaining to [overtime] parking shall be subject to
6 the provisions of this section.

8 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
