AN ACT
1 Providing for the disposal by tax collectors of their records
2 after seven years.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Any tax collector may dispose of any record,
6 document, or thing belonging to, or received or kept by, his
7 office for information or record after any such record,
8 document, or thing has been in the custody of his office for
9 seven years, provided that:
10 (1) such record, document or thing is no longer needed
11 by him to transact the business of his office; and
12 (2) the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission
13 has been given an opportunity to take, but has not taken any
14 such records, documents or things into its custody within one
15 year after it has been notified of the opportunity.
16 Section 2. Nothing in this act shall be construed to repeal
17 any statute providing for the disposition of records.
18 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
