                                     AN ACT

     1  For the protection of the public on highways and streets;
     2     requiring the owners of drive-in motion picture theatres to
     3     construct the screens upon which the motion pictures are
     4     projected in such a manner that the projected picture is not
     5     visible from any traveled highway or street outside the
     6     theatre enclosure or to erect shields of fence necessary to
     7     accomplish such purpose and providing penalties.

     8     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     9  hereby enacts as follows:
    10     Section 1.  In order to protect the public on highways and
    11  streets from accidents caused by distractions, the owner of any
    12  drive-in motion picture theatre located within the Commonwealth
    13  shall construct the screen upon which motion pictures are
    14  projected in such a manner that the projected picture is not
    15  visible from any traveled highway or street outside the theatre
    16  enclosure or erect shields or fence necessary to accomplish such
    17  purpose.
    18     Section 2.  After the effective date of this act any owner of
    19  a drive-in theatre who is in violation of this act shall, upon
    20  summary conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $100 and costs

     1  of prosecution, or shall undergo imprisonment for not more than
     2  ten days, or both. Each and every day's continuance in violation
     3  of this act shall be a separate and distinct offense.
     4     Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 90 days.
