In the House of Representatives, January 28, 1975

1 WHEREAS, The Department of Public Welfare has entered into a
2 contract with Paid Prescriptions Inc. of Burlingame, California,
3 to administer a program for paying druggists for prescriptions
4 furnished to welfare recipients; and
5 WHEREAS, Under this new agreement, the druggists are to
6 assume responsibility for the paper work and are to receive as
7 compensation for handling these prescriptions the cost of the

     6 February 1, 1975; therefore be it
7 RESOLVED, That it is the sense of the House of
8 Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that the
9 implementation of the new agreement with Paid Prescriptions Inc.
10 be delayed for 60 days so that the effect of the agreement on
11 the druggists of Pennsylvania can be more carefully studied, and
12 that during this 60 day period, the Secretary of Public Welfare
13 should meet with pharmacists and in particular, representatives
14 of the Pennsylvania Pharmaceutical Association to review the
15 provisions and particulars of the new pact with a view toward
16 revising the contract if that shall be deemed in the best
    17  interest of the Commonwealth and all the druggists concerned;
    18 and be it further
19 RESOLVED, That a copy of this document be transmitted to the
