AN ACT 1 Amending the act of May 13, 1909 (P.L.520, No.292), entitled "An 2 act relating to food: defining food; providing for the 3 protection of the public health, and the prevention of fraud 4 and deception, by prohibiting the manufacture or sale, the 5 offering for sale or exposing for sale, or the having in 6 possession with intent to sell, of adulterated, misbranded, 7 or deleterious foods; prescribing certain duties of the Dairy 8 and Food Commissioner in reference thereto; and providing 9 penalties for the violation thereof," relating to nutritional 10 requirements for imitation foods. 11 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 12 hereby enacts as follows: 13 Section 1. The act of May 13, 1909 (P.L.520, No.292), 14 entitled "An act relating to food: defining food; providing for 15 the protection of the public health, and the prevention of fraud 16 and deception, by prohibiting the manufacture or sale, the 17 offering for sale or exposing for sale, or the having in 18 possession with intent to sell, of adulterated, misbranded, or 19 deleterious foods; prescribing certain duties of the Dairy and 20 Food Commissioner in reference thereto; and providing penalties
1 for the violation thereof," is amended by adding a section to 2 read: 3 Section 4.1. All imitation foods and simulated food products 4 sold in this Commonwealth shall be nutritionally equivalent or 5 superior to the foods for which they are imitations or the food 6 products which they simulate. 7 Section 2.
