AN ACT
1 Amending the act of April 29, 1959 (P.L.58, No.32), entitled "An
2 act consolidating and revising the Vehicle Code, the Tractor
3 Code, the Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Act and
4 other acts relating to the ownership, possession and use of
5 vehicles and tractors," requiring inspection of certain motor
6 vehicles prior to resale and providing a penalty.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. The act of April 29, 1959 (P.L.58, No.32), known
10 as "The Vehicle Code," is amended by adding a section to read:
11 Section 824.1. Inspection of Motor Vehicles Held by
12 Dealers.--Every used motor vehicle which is subject to
13 registration under section 702 or 702.1 and which is sold by a
14 dealer shall, prior to resale and subsequent to acquisition by
15 such dealer, pass a State inspection.
16 Any person violating the provisions of this section shall,
17 upon summary conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of twenty-
18 five dollars ($25.00) and costs of prosecution, and, in default
19 of the payment thereof, shall undergo imprisonment for not more
1 than five (5) days.
2 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
