                                     AN ACT

     1  Limiting the liability of certain regular police officers and
     2     firemen responding to calls for assistance from other
     3     municipalities, granting such police and firemen certain
     4     powers, and imposing liability for their acts upon the
     5     requesting municipality.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Definition.--As used in this act:
     9     "Municipality" shall mean any city, borough, town or
    10  township.
    11     Section 2.  Whenever, pursuant to an existing written
    12  agreement providing therefore, and in response to a call for
    13  emergency assistance from any active duty officer or fireman of
    14  any municipality to any other on duty officer or fireman of
    15  another municipality, a policeman or fireman goes from his own
    16  municipality to the municipality requesting assistance, he shall
    17  have the same powers and immunities as regular police officers
    18  or firemen of the municipality requesting assistance. Any
    19  liability arising from the acts of such police officers and


     1  firemen shall be the responsibility of the municipality
     2  requesting the assistance.
     3     Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
