                                     AN ACT

     1  Declaring and adopting the song "Pennsylvania" by Carl E. Seitz,
     2     as the State song of the Commonwealth.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  The song "Pennsylvania" by Carl E. Seitz, is
     6  hereby adopted as the State song of Pennsylvania and shall be
     7  the official song for all public purposes. The words of the song
     8  are as follows:
     9     Verse I
    10     Pennsylvania, Keystone State, spreading like an
    11         open gate
    12     To the east and to the west native land that I
    13         love best.
    14     Verse II
    15     Rolling hillsides, fertile fields, everywhere
    16         abundance yields
    17     From the farm and factory, showing forth
    18         diversity.


     1     Chorus
     2     Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, rich in history
     3     Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, birthplace of our
     4         liberty.
     5     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
