A JOINT RESOLUTION 1 Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the Commonwealth 2 of Pennsylvania, reducing the number of senatorial and 3 representative districts. 4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 hereby resolves as follows: 6 Section 1. The following amendment to the Constitution of 7 the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is proposed in accordance with 8 the provisions of the eleventh article thereof: 9 That section sixteen, article two of the Constitution of the 10 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania be amended to read: 11 Section 16. Legislative Districts.--The Commonwealth shall 12 be divided into [fifty] forty-one senatorial and [two hundred 13 three] one hundred twenty-three representative districts, which 14 shall be composed of compact and contiguous territory as nearly 15 equal in population as practicable and each senatorial district 16 shall be coterminous with three representative districts. Each 17 senatorial district shall elect one Senator, and each 18 representative district one Representative. Unless absolutely
