        AS AMENDED ON SECOND CONSIDERATION, IN SENATE, JULY 23, 1975

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of March 11, 1971 (P.L.104, No.3), entitled, as
     2     amended, "An act providing property tax or rent rebate to
     3     certain senior citizens, widows, widowers and permanently
     4     disabled persons with limited incomes; establishing uniform
     5     standards and qualifications for eligibility to receive a
     6     rebate; and imposing duties upon the Department of Revenue,"
     7     further providing for A TEMPORARY METHOD OF payment of         <--
     8     administrative expenses and claims.

     9     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    10  hereby enacts as follows:
    11     Section 1.  Section 8, act of March 11, 1971 (P.L.104, No.3),
    12  known as the "Senior Citizens Property Tax or Rent Rebate Act,"
    13  reenacted and amended June 16, 1975 (No.4) is amended to read:
    14     Section 8.  Funds for Payment of Administrative Expenses and
    15  Claims.--Expenses, salaries and other costs incurred in the
    16  administration of this act and approved claims shall be paid
    17  from the State Lottery Fund established by the act of August 26,
    18  1971 (P.L.351, No.91), known as the "State Lottery Law." In the

     1  event that the total amount of administrative expenses and
     2  claims exceeds the [amount in] funds available including revenue  <--
     3  estimated to be available for these purposes in such fund, in
     4  any one year, then the percentages allowed as tax or rent
     5  rebates shall be reduced in the proportion that the estimated     <--
     6  amount of such [fund] available revenue bears to the total        <--
     7  amount of claims in such year. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION,  <--
     8  FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1975, THE AMOUNT IN THE
     9  STATE LOTTERY FUND SHALL INCLUDE FUNDS AVAILABLE INCLUDING
    10  REVENUE ESTIMATED TO BE AVAILABLE FOR THE PURPOSES OF
    11  ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES AND CLAIMS.
    12     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
