                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), entitled "An
     2     act to consolidate, editorially revise, and codify the public
     3     welfare laws of the Commonwealth," further providing for
     4     eligibility for and amount of State blind pensions.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  Clause (3) of section 506 and section 507, act of
     8  June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), known as the "Public Welfare
     9  Code," amended December 26, 1974 (No.324), are amended to read:
    10     Section 506.  Eligibility.--The department shall provide a
    11  State blind pension to any blind person who:

    13     (3)  Has actual annual income of his own of less than [three
    14  thousand six hundred dollars ($3600)] three thousand eight
    15  hundred dollars ($3,800);

    17     Section 507.  Amount of Pension.--Except as provided for


     1  payment for nursing home care, the amount paid after the
     2  effective date of this act to an eligible blind person having
     3  actual annual income of his own of two thousand five hundred
     4  eighty dollars ($2580) or less shall be [eighty-five dollars
     5  ($85)] ninety dollars ($90) monthly, and the monthly amount paid
     6  to any other eligible blind person shall be fixed in such amount
     7  that the sum of his actual annual income and State blind pension
     8  equals [three thousand six hundred dollars ($3600)] three
     9  thousand eight hundred dollars ($3,800) a year.
