AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 18, 1974 (No.120), entitled "An act
2 creating the Municipal Police Officers' Education and
3 Training Commission; providing for the commission's
4 membership, selection, compensation, and removal; providing
5 for the powers and duties of the commission; providing for
6 the appointment and duties of the chairman; providing for the
7 act's applicability to the civil service laws; requiring
8 training by certain political subdivisions and police
9 departments; providing penalties for violation thereof; and
10 making an appropriation," further providing for reimbursement
11 of expenses.
12 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
13 hereby enacts as follows:
14 Section 1. Section 10, act of June 18, 1974 (No.120),
15 entitled "An act creating the Municipal Police Officers'
16 Education and Training Commission; providing for the
17 commission's membership, selection, compensation, and removal;
18 providing for the powers and duties of the commission; providing
19 for the appointment and duties of the chairman; providing for
20 the act's applicability to the civil service laws; requiring
21 training by certain political subdivisions and police
22 departments; providing penalties for violation thereof; and
1 making an appropriation," is amended by adding a subsection to
2 read:
3 Section 10. Reimbursement of Expenses.--* * *
4 (d) Political subdivisions shall be entitled to
5 reimbursement under this section for municipal police officers
6 who attended schools subsequent to June 18, 1974 and before
7 requirements are established under sections 5 and 6: Provided,
8 That the school is found to meet the requirements as finally
9 established.
10 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
