AN ACT
1 Regulating schedules of paid firemen, fire alarm operators and
2 drivers of counties, cities, boroughs, towns and townships.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Hours and Schedules.--All counties, cities,
6 boroughs, towns and townships having paid firemen, fire alarm
7 operators and drivers in its employ shall regulate the hours of
8 such employees in accordance with the work schedule as herein
9 prescribed:
10 (1) The hours of day service shall be ten, beginning at 8
11 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. for three days in succession.
12 (2) The hours of night service shall be fourteen, beginning
13 at 6 p.m. and ending at 8 a.m. for three nights in succession.
14 When the hours of day and night service are equalized
15 they shall not exceed an average of 42 hours per week over a 12-
16 week period.
17 Section 2. All acts and parts of acts are repealed in so far
18 as they are inconsistent herewith.
1 Section 3. This act shall take effect January 1, 1977.
