AN ACT 1 Amending the act of June 23, 1931 (P.L.932, No.317), entitled 2 "An act relating to cities of the third class; and amending, 3 revising, and consolidating the law relating thereto," 4 further providing for payments by the city into the firemen's 5 pension fund. 6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 7 hereby enacts as follows: 8 Section 1. Section 4324, act of June 23, 1931 (P.L.932, 9 No.317), known as "The Third Class City Code," reenacted and 10 amended June 28, 1951 (P.L.662, No.164) and amended July 20, 11 1968 (P.L.434, No.204), is amended to read: 12 Section 4324. Payments to Firemen's Pension Funds by City.-- 13 There shall be paid to the firemen's pension funds by every city 14 annually the sum of money sufficient to meet the requirements of 15 and to maintain the firemen's pension fund which sum shall be 16 not less than one-half of one per centum nor more than three per 17 centum of all city taxes levied by the city, other than taxes 18 levied to pay interest on or extinguish the debt of the city or 19 any part thereof. Council may exceed the limitations imposed by
1 this section if an additional amount is deemed necessary to 2 provide sufficient funds for payments to widows of members 3 retired on pension or killed or who die in the service: 4 Provided, however, That the city shall annually pay into said 5 fund not less than one-half of one per centum of all city taxes 6 levied by the city, other than taxes levied to pay interest on 7 or extinguish the debt of the city or any part thereof.
