AN ACT
1 Amending the act of August 12, 1971 (P.L.299, No.75), entitled
2 "An act regulating snowmobiles, providing for registrations
3 and fees, and providing penalties," providing for certain
4 financial assistance by the Commonwealth.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. The act of August 12, 1971 (P.L.299, No.75),
8 entitled "An act regulating snowmobiles, providing for
9 registrations and fees, and providing penalties," is amended by
10 adding a section to read:
11 Section 18.1. Commonwealth Financial Assistance.--(a) Any
12 public agency that provides a free snowmobile trail system for
13 the use of the general public, may apply to the Commonwealth for
14 financial assistance for the construction and maintenance of the
15 trail system. For purposes of this section the term "public
16 agency" shall mean any department, commission, board or
17 municipality of this Commonwealth except the Department of
18 Environmental Resources.
19 (b) The department shall adopt rules and regulations
1 relating to forms for applications and information necessary to
2 determine financial assistance, the amount of financial
3 assistance available and the allocation of financial assistance
4 to the applicants.
5 (c) The funds for the financial assistance shall be drawn on
6 the restricted receipts fund established pursuant to section 18
7 by the State Treasurer after approval of the department.
