REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, JUNE 25, 1975
AN ACT
1 Making appropriations to the Department of Health for the
2 establishment of a comprehensive program relating to and the
3 diagnosis and treatment of persons with Tay-Sachs disease at
4 the Jefferson Medical College and Hospital, Philadelphia,
5 Pennsylvania.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. The sum of $52,000 $77,630 is hereby appropriated <--
9 to the Department of Health for the fiscal year July 1, 1975 to
10 June 30, 1976, for the establishment of a comprehensive program
11 relating to persons with Tay-Sachs disease at the Jefferson
12 Medical College and Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Such
13 program shall include the detection of Tay-Sachs disease in the
14 community, counselling of individuals and families, education of
15 the public, and institution, and coordination of research into <--
16 the treatment for Tay-Sachs disease AND THE EXPANSION OF GENETIC <--
17 DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES AND TREATMENT OF PERSONS WITH THE DISEASE.
18 Section 2. The sum of $25,630 is hereby appropriated to the <--
1 Department of Health for the fiscal year July 1, 1975 to June
2 30, 1976, for the expansion of the program of genetic diagnostic
3 services and treatment of persons with Tay-Sachs disease at the
4 Jefferson Medical College and Hospital, Philadelphia,
5 Pennsylvania.
6 Section 3. 2. The Department of Health shall ascertain that <--
7 the funds appropriated by this act are used by the Jefferson
8 Medical College and Hospital, Philadelphia for the purposes set
9 forth in this act.
10 Section 4. 3. This act shall take effect immediately. <--
