                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, adding provisions relating to the
     3     disposition of television tubes.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Chapter 65 of Title 18, act of November 25, 1970
     7  (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     8  Statutes, added December 6 1972 (P.L.1482, No.334), is amended
     9  by adding a section to read:

    13  § 6505.  Television sets and tubes.
    14     (a)  Offense defined.--A person is guilty of a summary
    15  offense if he discards or abandons in any place accessible to
    16  the public any television picture tube or television set
    17  containing any picture tube which has not been neutralized to
    18  eliminate the danger of implosion, or if the owner, lessee,


     1  manager or person in possession of any place accessible to the
     2  public knowingly permits an abandoned or discarded television
     3  picture tube or a set containing such a tube to remain in such
     4  place without the tube having been neutralized to eliminate the
     5  danger of implosion.
     6     (b)  Other responsibility.--A violation of this section shall
     7  not in itself render a person guilty of manslaughter, assault or
     8  other crime against a person who may suffer death or injury from
     9  implosion of a television picture tube.
