                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of May 3, 1933 (P.L.242, No.86), entitled, as
     2     amended, "An act to promote the public health and safety by
     3     providing for examination and registration of those who
     4     desire to engage in the occupation of beauty culture;
     5     defining beauty culture, and regulating beauty culture shops,
     6     schools, students, apprentices, teachers, managers and
     7     operators; conferring powers and duties upon the Commissioner
     8     of Professional and Occupational Affairs in the Department of
     9     State; providing for appeals to certain courts by applicants
    10     and licensees; and providing penalties," further providing
    11     for temporary renewal licenses for shop owners.

    12     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    13  hereby enacts as follows:
    14     Section 1.  Section 11, act of May 3, 1933 (P.L.242, 86),
    15  entitled, as amended, "An act to promote the public health and
    16  safety by providing for examination and registration of those
    17  who desire to engage in the occupation of beauty culture;
    18  defining beauty culture, and regulating beauty culture shops,
    19  schools, students, apprentices, teachers, managers and
    20  operators; conferring powers and duties upon the Commissioner of
    21  Professional and Occupational Affairs in the Department of
    22  State; providing for appeals to certain courts by applicants and
    23  licensees; and providing penalties," amended July 20, 1968

     1  (P.L.442, No.208), and repealed in part July 31, 1968 (P.L.769,
     2  No.240), is amended to read:
     3     Section 11.  Rules by Board.--The board after at least one
     4  public hearing shall prescribe reasonable rules for its conduct,
     5  and for the registration and examination of applicants to
     6  practice or teach beauty culture, and for the registration of
     7  teachers, students, and managers of beauty shops or schools of
     8  beauty culture, and for temporary licenses to be issued by the
     9  department and generally for the conduct of persons,
    10  copartnerships, associations or corporations affected by this
    11  act.
    12     As to temporary licenses for shop owners in lieu of renewal
    13  registrations pending board ordered inspections, such rules
    14  shall permit temporary renewal licenses to be issued by the
    15  department on inspections designated satisfactory by inspectors
    16  which shall authorize continued shop operation until final
    17  approval or rejection by the board.
