                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of July 31, 1941 (P.L.616), entitled, "An act
     2     defining, regulating and providing for the licensing and
     3     registration of employment agents, and their representatives,
     4     including private employment agents, theatrical employment
     5     agencies and nurses' registries; providing for revocation and
     6     suspension of licenses and registrations subject to appeal
     7     and for their reinstatement; defining the powers and duties
     8     of the Department of Labor and Industry and the Department of
     9     Public Instruction; providing penalties, and repealing
    10     existing laws," reducing certain age requirements.

    11     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    12  hereby enacts as follows:
    13     Section 1.  Section 17, act of July 31, 1941 (P.L.616), known
    14  as the "Employment Agency Law," is amended to read:
    15     Section 17.  It shall be the duty of every employment agent
    16  to keep a register in which shall be entered in the English
    17  language the date of every accepted application for employment,
    18  name and address of the applicant to whom employment is offered
    19  or promised, name and address of the person to whom the
    20  applicant is sent for employment, the amount of the fee received
    21  and the number of the receipt. The employment agent shall also
    22  enter in the English language in a separate register the name


     1  and address of every accepted application for help, the date of
     2  such application, the kind of help requested, the name of the
     3  person sent, with the designation of the one employed, the
     4  amount of fee received and the rate of wages agreed upon. Each
     5  application for help shall be numbered, which number shall be
     6  entered in said register. Such registers of applicants for
     7  employment and help shall be open during office hours to
     8  inspection by the department and its duly qualified agents. No
     9  employment agent or his employes shall knowingly make any false
    10  entry in such registers.
    11     In the case of applicants for employment who are under
    12  [twenty-one (21)] eighteen (18) years of age, the register shall
    13  contain the names and addresses of parents or guardians.
