AN ACT
Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in depositions and
witnesses, further providing for confidential communications
involving law enforcement officers and for confidential
communications to peer support members.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The definition of "law enforcement officer" in
section 5950(d) of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes is amended by adding paragraphs to read:
§ 5950. Confidential communications involving law enforcement
officers.

(d) Definitions.--As used in this section, the following
words and phrases shall have the meanings given to them in this
subsection:

"Law enforcement officer." Any of the following:

(14) A county adult probation officer.
(15) A county juvenile probation officer.
Section 2. The definition of "law enforcement officer" in
section 5952(d) of Title 42 is amended by adding paragraphs to
read:
§ 5952. Confidential communications to peer support members.

(d) Definitions.--As used in this section, the following
words and phrases shall have the meanings given to them in this
subsection:

(14) A county adult probation officer.
(15) A county juvenile probation officer.

Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
